More pictures and a lazy weekend.

I took more senior pictures Friday after work. I must say, I've never tried to take any with a horse, but it's almost as bad as trying to get a 2 year old to look at you. The only thing that could have been worse was a 2 year old and a horse! Now don't get me wrong, I LOVE taking pictures of kids and babies. I love capturing their little souls and seeing the looks on their faces when everyday things excite them to no end. I took the boys with me to the "photo shoot" and they were really pretty good. We only lost one shoe in the mud hole! Note to self: put on play clothes and old boots before taking them back out there! They got to ride Nipper, covered in mud and Koy with one shoe. I'm so glad they got to ride. Robert never has time to ride anymore, much less let them ride.

The rest of the weekend was pretty laid back. Robert had the weekend off again so we just rode around and spent the day together Saturday. I rode to Abilene with Tinker Sunday to get Ginny a baby shower gift and that was pretty much it.

Dogs, bald heads, drawings, and Senior Pictures

So I have this dog. She showed up at my brother's house and kept jumping his fence and staying in his yard. This was fine with him, but she got really protective and was growling and barking at the neighbors and UPS man when my brother wasn't there. Well, she got after a guy running so he turned them in and the city said they had to get rid of her. So where did she end up? With me! Mike put here in my car when I was there one weekend, and would not let me leave until I took her! She kind of scared me at first, especially with the boys. When we got to my Mom and Dad's house that night she even bit my dad when he tried to catch her. I could tell she had been around some not very nice people because she was really timid, especially around men. Well we got her home and she has been the sweetest dog ever. She won't stay in the fence, so she just roams the neighborhood, well no, actually the town. But she always comes home and is great with the boys. I've never seen her growl or even bark since we got her. A couple of weeks ago, she was roaming around and found my car and the office, so she sat by it, all day long! I took her home and everything was fine. Well, Thursday, when I took Kase to school, they opened the door to let him out, and she jumped in!! She followed us to school! I didn't have time to take her home because I was running late as usual, so I just took her to work with me. She sat by my car for 8 hours! That's fine, if she wants to sit by my car all day in the hot, let her. But, we went to the grocery store the other night and I hear the boys saying "there's Deb, Deb's in the store" I look up, and there she is, in the grocery store looking for us!!!! So does anyone have any suggestions!?! I'm glad she loves me, but going in the grocery store went a little overboard! Anyway I just wanted to share my little dilema with my 4 legged friend.


As if the dog isn't enough, here is my next dilema! My son is going bald!!! When Kase is reading or drawing he rubs his head and is making bald spots! I finally got the last spot growing back, and now he's started on a new one! How do I get my kid to stop rubbing his head??? He looks like he has some bad disease that makes his hair fall out in patches! The results are great, that kid can draw! But why does he have to rub his head while he does it!?! I'm putting a couple of his drawings I found the other day up. Obviously he likes Ford pickups because that's all he draws! I have a few more at home I have been meaning to bring and scan, maybe I'll get them at lunch.

I also took some senior pictures yesterday for Cory. He has the prettiest eyes!! If you want to see them you can look at them on my website. I have more to take this afternoon. Everyone has waited until the last minute to get them done!

What a difference the camera makes and the proper way to cut sasuage!

I attempted to take the boys picture this weekend while we were in Wichita Falls, but they didn't turn out so great. I'll be so glad to get my camera back. I tried these with my little camera I just got, but I'm just so spoiled by my good camera, I could never go back! It is nice to have a little one to carry in my purse for random shots, but that's about it. Here are a few of the pics I got. They aren't very good and all the cute ones were blurry so I didn't even bother editing these!!! aaaagggghhhhh I get so aggrivated!!! I guess we will have to try it again when I get my camera back. They boys will be excited about that! :)

The boys also played in the "pool" with their cousin Mason all afternoon Saturday. They had so much fun but it wore them out! Luckily last night Koy made it out of the bathtub, but that's about it. After he threw all of his toys in the floor, he covered up with his towel and fell asleep on the rug in front of the bathtub. Poor kid!

Strap the horse to the hood, we're going camping!

Last night after we got home the boys were playing in the garage and hadn't been in the house in a while so I went out to check on them. I walked out there and saw the two boys and the dog in their pickup, a huge box of toys in the back, and their horse strapped to the hood of the pickup with bunjee cords! They told me they were going camping and didn't have a trailer. They didn't want the horse to have to walk, so they just strapped him to the hood! Those boys and their imaginations definately keep my life interesting!

Anniversary Weekend

Robert and I will have our 7th anniversary tomorrow, so he took the enitre weekend off to spend it with his family! We haven't seen very much of him lately. After working on the Green ranch for 8 years, he decided to quit and start drilling oil wells. He started on December 15th and has only taken off about 3 weekends since then. The earliest he gets home on a good day is about 8:00 and it is usually around 11 or 12 at night. The boys and I were really starting to miss him. Saturday he took the boys for some father/son bonding time while I took my camera to Abilene to get it worked on. I got home just in time to help unload his mom's new furniture and then we left the boys with her so we could go out and celebrate. We went to the beehive, as usual. For some reason it was really slow. There were only 7 people (including us) there the whole time we were there! His sister Diedre came and had a couple of drinks with us and then we went to Robert and Heather's house for about 45 minutes. We had planned on going to church Sunday morning, but since the boys spent the night with his mom we didn't wake up in time to get ready! So we just picked them up and headed to Abilene to look at lawnmowers. We went through 2 of them last year, so Robert decided it was time to buy a new one! He couldn't decide which one he wanted, so we ended up not getting one. That's one of those things he'll think about for several weeks before he finally gets one. And by then, our yard will be looking pretty bad! After Lowe's and Home Depot, we went to the Cotton Patch and ate lunch/supper. Then we headed to Walmart to get groceries and then back home. Nothing really exciting, but it was so nice to get to spend the enitre weekend with my family! Here are a couple of pictures of the boys "test driving" the lawnmowers.

I did have something bad happen to me this weekend though. Yesterday I was pulling my hair back and found not one, but two gray hairs! Actually, they weren't gray, they were white!!! I'm only 24 years old, way to young for that! But I guess since my mom was gray headed when she had me, I kind of expected it to happen. Thanks Mom, love you! :)

Don't forget to go through the Easter Candy!!!

I have been smelling something pretty awful in my pantry for a couple of weeks now. I have gone through it and cleaned it out and could not find anything in it that could smell that bad. Well, this morning I finally looked up on the very top shelf and saw the boy's easter baskets. I'm not big on letting them have candy, so I always just put their candy up, and let them have a piece every now and then. So I started digging through the candy and guess what I found - hard boiled eggs!!! Yes, lots of them in the bottom of the buckets! I guess that will teach me to go through the candy from now on! But at least now the mystery is solved, and thank goodness, the smell is GONE!!!

I'm not a "newby" anymore!

We had another sorority meeting last Wednesday night. I was part of the last group (there were actually only three of us) to join. Wednesday we welcomed 5 new girls to the group. Every meeting has a theme and this time it was London, England, so Heather did Austin Powers and we all dressed up as hippies. My mom found one of her old dresses and jewelry for me to wear. The dress looked just like the one Jenny wore in Forrest Gump in there scene where she is running in the water. I got a long blonde wig to wear too. I looked pretty goofy, but we all got a laugh out of my nasty wig! Her dad picked up all the new girls in his "rv" from the 60's or 70's, I'm not sure which, complete with the brown shag carpet inside, even on the walls and dash! He took them all to the meeting and then took us all riding around in it after the meeting. Here are a couple of pictures from the night. I know it seems kind of silly for a bunch of grown women to act like this, but it's nice for us to set aside a time for us and not have to worry about our kids for a couple of hours every couple of weeks.

We didn't do anything at all this weekend except go to church. In fact, the boys and I didn't even get dressed Saturday! This is the first weekend in a long time I haven't had anything to do, so I just enjoyed it.
