Red Steagall

Mom and Dad kept the boys this weekend while Robert and I went the Red Steagall in Fort Worth. We haven't been since Kase was a newborn. We had a great weekend away and a lot of fun with our friends. Here are a few pictures of the girls and one of Robert and I.

A conversation with Koy

After I lost the baby when Koy asked how we can get another one we told him we just have to pray and God will give us one. Monday night I was watching the show about the Duggar family on TLC. You know the family in Arkansas with 17 kids! Koy just happened to walk through the room on a picture of the whole family.

Koy: Man, that sure is a bunch of kids! (You have to imagine his little "hick" voice)
Mom: Yeah, it sure is.
Koy: They must pway a lot!
Mom: Yeah, I guess so!(laughing pretty hard by now) Koy, are you ready for Mom and Dad to have another baby?
Koy: Yeah.
Mom: When do you think we'll get one?
Koy: When God twusts you!

Apparently I can't be trusted yet! Sometimes I wonder about that boy!

What if I met a bear at school?

I didn't even know what a computer was in 1st grade, much less know how to use one! We were talking about writing in print and cursive on Sunday and Kase chimed in with this....."I know how to print. You just go to File and then click on Print." What is this world coming to!?! This is something he typed at school a few weeks ago and I thought it was too funny not to share. I've also included one of his latest drawings. Obviously he likes to draw what he likes to draw not what you tell him to. You can tell by the difference in the bear and the car! And yes, the bear is pooping! When we asked him why he just said "I don't know."

Doris Katherine Hamilton, age 85, of Olney, Texas died Sunday October 12, 2008, in Olney.
Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 14, 2008, at the Cumberland Presbyterian Church with the Rev. James Gilbert, of Fort Worth, Texas and the Rev. David Carpenter, pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in Restland Cemetery under the direction of Lunn Funeral Home.

Doris was born November 21, 1922 in Olney, Texas to the late Mark and Io (Eubank) Campbell. She and Dwight Hamilton were married on September 24, 1944 in Olney. She graduated from Olney High School in 1940 and attended Bethel College in McKenzie, Tennessee. In 1944 she graduated with a BA and BS from TSCW in Denton, Texas. She was a member of Phi Upsilon Omicron, the Amity Club, the Olney Library Board, and past president of the Olney Board of Industry and Commerce. Doris was a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church, the CPWM, and a former member of the Children’s Home Board. She was preceded in death by one sister, Peggy McKinley.

She is survived by her husband, Dwight Hamilton of Olney, Texas; one son, Dike Hamilton and wife Marti of Olney; one daughter, Kathy Gilmore and husband Dale of Olney; five grandchildren, Mike Gilmore and wife Charity, Ira Gilmore and wife Cathey, Molly Cauble and husband Robert, Parker Hamilton, and Paige Hamilton; and six great grandchildren, Kooper, Mason, Sam, Katey, Kasey, and Koy.

Visitation for family and friends will be Monday evening, October 13, 2008, from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

But he's only 4!!!

Koy lost his first tooth yesterday! I didn't even know it was loose so I was really shocked when he told us it was loose and turned around to look at me and it was sticking straight out! He wouldn't eat anything all day at daycare until he finally let Miss Kelly pull it about 3:00. The tooth fairy came last night and brought him 5 dollars, but he was a little upset because it was "only 1 dollar". I tried to show him a 5 dollar bill and a 1 dollar bill and he just said "Well can I have that one too?"

Mason's 5th Birthday Party

Saturday we went to the Griffin Equine Center for Mason's 5th birthday party. They had horses for them to ride and my boys did great. Mike threw them up on those horses, let them go and they took off like a couple of little pros. The horses had already been on a 3 hour trail ride that morning so they were tired and the boys were getting very aggrivated because they wouldn't go faster! Koy finally gave up on the going faster and just let go and was riding around with his hands up in the air saying "look, no hands" while Mason was yelling "It's broke, come fix it." Kase decided he wanted to be a driller when he grows up when Robert went to work on the rig, but now he's changed his mind. He wants to be a cowboy! Now they are hounding him all the time because they want to start riding more.
