Update on Tara

Apparently I've been starving my poor little baby and didn't even know it! After nursing her, I am supposed to offer her formula and let her take as much as she wants. Well, she wants!!! After nursing for 25-30 minutes, she acts satisfied, but then she still takes 4-5 ounces of formula! I feel like such a horrible mother! I try to do the best thing for her and end up hurting her in the end! I just hope that's all it is and that she will have gained enough when I take her back. I'll update again after her weight check!

4 Months and my new toy

(Still wearing a newborn onsie!)

4 Months

Weight: 9 lbs 11 oz

Height: 23 1/2 inches

Clothes: Still wearing 3-6 month clothes

First "real" laugh: December 31, 2009

Obviously we've been struggling with her weight. I took her to the doctor yesterday for her checkup and even though she's grown and inch and a half, she only gained 1 pound in 2 months. He said she looks great and is doing everything she is supposed to be doing but he is concerned about her weight. I have to supplement for 2 weeks and if she doesn't gain any weight he wants to run some tests. I don't know what kind of tests, but hopefully I won't have to find out. I don't know if her legs were hurting from her shots or if she had a tummy ache or a combination of the two, but I was up all night with the poor little thing. That was very unsual for her because she sleeps from 8:30 until 7:00 every night and has for a couple of months now.

The girls and Cutter and Cotten's birthday party

This picture just makes me laugh

She loves her big brother
I have to write this down so I won't forget.....coming from the kid that absolutely did NOT want a sister, "If she ever has a bad boyfriend, I'm gonna knock him out". I'm pretty sure he like her! haha

I finally broke down and bought an embroidery machine. I've been wanting one for a while. Now Tara will have her name on EVERYTHING! Ha This dress is a little big but it was just a "practice dress". She can wear it next year...........or the year after if the little toot doesn't grow!!!

I made this one her size and she wore it to the doctor yesterday. And yes, I know, the name isn't exactly in the middle, but I'll do better next time! Actually it doesn't really match either, but I haven't got a whole lot of color choices in embroidery thread yet!

Christmas Part 3 - The Day After

We had a wonderful Christmas with all of our family, but I am glad it's over! Now I just have to try to deal with all the new "stuff" and get my house back in order. And guess what, my Christmas tree is coming down this year! Yes, that's right, I made a bet that I wouldn't take my tree down last year, and I won, I didn't take it down, but now it's time. I am SICK of looking at it!!!

Christmas Part 2 - Christmas Day

We normally go to my mom and dad's on Christmas day after we open our Santa gifts, but Mike and I decided we didn't want to try and drive in the ice and snow, so we waited until Saturday. We went to Robert's brother's house and cooked a ham and let the kids play all day. It was great just to be together all day and to not have to worry about going anywhere!

She finally slept all night without her swaddle blanket. But when I woke her up, she had her pants and both socks off!

Santa gifts

"Chew toys" for Tara per Koy's request

They took a break from tearing into everything to smile for me

Trying out her new highchair

Looking at all those toys just wore her out
Her shirt says "I'm Santa's Best Gift" and I totally agree!

All snuggled up in her warm suit that Mama bought her

Smoothing it out for the kids. Ha ha, he went down a little before he was ready!

We finally got all three of them together - Tara, Cutter & Kamryn
Cutter boy may have been born small, but he got over it!

We pulled up to Grandmother Erlines and saw this in the driveway! I guess Peyton and Beth didn't want to chance it in the snow and ice.

3 Months and First Snow

3 Months
Weight: ?

Height: ?

Clothes: Still wearing newborn through 3-6 months. We have to get 3-6 for the length, but all the pants are HUGE and constantly fall off!

Milestones: She has been laughing a little, but I haven't gotten a good belly laugh yet, so I'm not giving it an exact day. All I've gotten out of her is a "huh" so I'm not considering that a full out laugh just yet!

First Snow: December 24, 2009

We haven't been to the doctor, which is a good thing because it means that she has been healthy. But we also don't know how much she weighs! I can tell she has grown, but she's still not as big as her cousins. Her three month picture is taken in the onsie that we brought her home from the hospital in! She seems to be getting a stiff neck and favors one side over the other, so we have been doing some stretches at every diaper change and it is already getting better. You can tell in the picture that she is tilting her head to the right. Koy had torticollis when he was a baby and we spent many days in physical therapy so I knew what to look for and what to do about it.

She was "telling me about it"

This doesn't even look like her!

First snow - before it really started coming down

(Excuse the holes in the pants! Those are their weekend/go with Daddy pants.)
