Done - Well Mostly

I still have to put the ribbon around the bottom but I think it turned out pretty well. I'm going to let my mom make the quilt for me.

I quickly "painted" the sheets brown in photoshop just to see what it will look like because I had a really dull green one on the bed and it just looked bad. So if it looks kind of odd, that's why!

Kase's 1st Grade Track Meet

Here are a few pictures from Kasey's track meet this morning. It was hot, but he did great! It really shocks me that he has any athletic ability at all because I don't have an athletic bone in my body! I guess he gets it from his dad! :)

This was in Kase's folder last night. I just love how kids spell everything how it sounds when they are first learning to read and write!

Opinions Please - I need help!

I'm using this as an example for the the one I making and I'm trying to decide which color to use for the green in this one.

You can't really tell but these stripes have both Lime Green and Brown so I'm trying to decide which one of those colors to use in the bumper pads. I'm going to make them like the picture above, with the "blocks" and the stripes around the top. Does any of this make sense!?! :)

So what do you think, Lime Green or Brown????? FYI - the trim in the room is brown.

So this is TOTALLY not even close to the fabric I went into the store to get, but it's what I walked out with. I'm still not 100% sure I love it, but I REFUSE to re-paint the baby's room and this matched my bright blue walls and added a little girly flair. I got the dust ruffle almost finished Saturday. I still want to add a strip of brown between the two patterns. I couldn't find everything I needed for the bumper pads so I had to order the rest. It should be here this week and I can get started on them. I was pretty proud of myself on the dust ruffle though. I didn't have a pattern, just measured and cut and prayed it all worked out. I was really planning on making a trip back to Abilene for more fabric when I messed this up but it all worked with no mess-ups or anything! This is just a sheet I bought a couple of months ago before I knew what I was going to use. I'll probably just get some brown ones or maybe even make a few to match.



P.S. Hobby Lobby is a really really bad place! I could have gotten in some major trouble in there, but luckily Robert was calling me every 10 minutes wanting to know where I was, what I was doing, and why it was taking so long! :)

Erline E. Black

Erline Black, age 90 of Albany, died Sunday, May 10, 2009 at her residence.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, May 12th at First Baptist Church with Rev. Bobby Smith and Rev. Bart Burgess officiating. Burial will follow in the Albany Cemetery under the direction of Morehart Mortuary.

Erline Elizabeth Cotten was born on January 19, 1919 in Sweetwater, Texas to parents, Vance Bartlett Cotten and Bertha Odean Reynolds Cotten. As a child Erline moved to Albany with her family where she graduated as Salutatorian of the Albany High School Class of 1935. She went on to attend Abilene Business School. Erline married Buck Branch Black on September 16, 1939 in Albany. The Blacks made their home in Albany where they raised three daughters and actively participated in the community.

Erline enjoyed painting, playing bridge and designing clothes. Her love of fashion developed into a full-time career as a business woman. She owned and operated Erline's Specialty Shop, located in downtown Albany, for over sixty years. Erline was a member of the Albany Women's Business Circle as well as the American Small Business Association- earning the Outstanding Business of the Year Award in 1964. Erline was active in the revitalization of the downtown area of Albany. Her civic service extended beyond her business as Erline was a thirty-year member of the Albany Lioness Club, serving eighteen years as treasurer. She was also very active in the PTA of Albany schools, serving in each of the organization's offices through the years. Erline was also a member of the Albany Bridge Club. She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church where she served as a Sunday School Teacher for many years and participated in the W.M.U.
Erline was preceded in death by her parents; husband, one sister, Wanda Cotten; one great granddaughter, Chelsey Shack; and one son-in-law, Larry Cauble Sr.

Three daughters, Renee Cauble, Betsy Bea Parsons and husband, Mike, and Melissa Odean Black, all of Albany, survive her; as well as, one brother, V.B. "Boley" Cotten of Woodson; one sister, Dorothy Jo Williams of Dallas; ten grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the Fort Griffin Fandangle Association or West Texas Rehabilitation Center and may be left at Morehart Mortuary.

Any suggestions??? I need something to go with Katherine, first or middle. She will be a Katherine but we won't call her that since my niece is already Katey. So I'm open for any suggestions! Doesn't have to be a K name either. PLEASE HELP!!!! Thanks!
